When I was in school, there were few movements that held my attention. Maybe it was my art history professor whose voice was identical to Ben Stein (cleaaaar eyes) and the class was an hour and half long with nothing but slides.
Picasso was one artist Professor Ben Stein couldn’t bore me with. I’d heard of him in passing, but studying his work (and the cubism movement as a whole) kept my interest. Lately I’ve been looking at cubism for inspiration on a project.
Speaking of Picasso, imagine being at an art gallery and some rapper is there performing for six hours. Well that happened when Jay-Z showed up at Pace art gallery and performed “Picasso Baby” from Magna Carta Holy Grail for six hours straight to changing crowds. Watch below.
